Carbon Mitigation Transition Phase 1

RMF developed a implementation plan for building and distribution upgrades based on the College’s prior high-level analysis of low-carbon energy system alternatives. The scope of work began with a detailed field review and engineering analysis of building HVAC equipment and envelope conditions. RMF then developed a detailed scope and phasing plan to convert the current campus buildings and steam distribution system to low temperature hot water (LTHW) over the next 15 years. This work will enable a future transition from fossil-fuel based generation to geo-exchange heat pumps.
